The Buffalo WolfPack have wasted no time as trading in the NFL opened tonight at 12:01 am!!

One WolfDen Drive is silent on the details at this point, but not silent in their celebration. An anonymous source inside the organization has told me that the hoots and hollars could be heard from Owner and GM Lasher's office just a few minutes before he left his office for the night, wearing a huge smile. When the source asked him why he was so happy, Lasher reportedly told him: "Oh, you'll see in the morning my friend, but the WolfPack just traded for a new face to our franchise!!!"

My source tells me that there could only be one thing that this could be. QB Jay Cutler is OUT! The WolfPack have made no secret that QB Jay Cutler was in the doghouse with the new regime, after storming out of an introductory meeting and refusing to return repeated phonecalls to him and his agent.

Who will be the new face of the WolfPack franchise? I guess no one except Lasher and the team he traded with will know untill the League Office reopens later today and processes the trade. Stay tuned!

Lol.....Beast apparently needed a midnight snack and confirmed your trade. I was locked out which is why I couldn't originally post it. But most people will see this in the morning anyway. Great trade lash. I never got to make another offer cause I was so busy

Interesting.

I really can't say who got the better of this trade.

I am interested to see how both will do in the actual 2009 NFL season. Cutler won't have Marshall or Royal and Manning won't have Burress.

I say it's a coin toss until we see how the draft picks acquired shake out and see how both QB's fare in the future.

This was a great trade! When you have big names change teams with no clear winner it makes things interesting. The winner, if there is one, may not be determined for years!

I agree, and I think that should be the goal of every trade. One that works for both teams and is so even you won't know who was the "winner" till far down the road.

I really like Eli, even more so in the sim. He runs the offense I want to run very well with his relatively low INT % and nice TD% Plus, I think that he might struggle a bit at first without Burress (as the end of last year showed). However, i believe Hicks is the real deal, and should have at least decent production his first year. Obviously there aren't many WR's that come in from the get go and put up big numbers, but I'm building for the future and I think in the future Eli to Hakeem is gonna be right up there with Kelly to Reed and Montanna/Young to Rice. (No, I'm not saying Nicks is the next Jerry Rice or Andre Reed LOL I just think they will have that type of chemistry)

Bad trade IMO. Cutler has a bigger upside. Vanderbilt is a better college and Ole Miss alums are dumbasses.

Owning Cutler in another league, I probably would not have made that trade.

But if both parties are satisfied, all power to you.

Well I don't know much about the colleges, but Ole Miss has produced some of the following NFL players: CB Ken Lucas, QB's Archie and Eli Manning, Deuce McAllister, Michael Oher, All-Pro TE Wesley Walls, ILB Patrick Willis, and UDFA LB Ashlee Palmer of the Buffalo Bills among many others.

Maybe they are dumbasses, I don't know, but there are some damn good football players on that list LOL

Also, Cutler didn't fit what I need from my QB, now or in the future. He's a gunslinger that would be wasted in a short, quick passing game in the sim.

LOL I was just having fun at Ole Miss's expense...they are like the kicking can of the SEC...By the way, they will have another great prospect next year in Snead.

Yeah, I agree that +it's a toss up too. I just feel that Cutler will have a better future, although you may never know. I like what we got out of this trade.

As for what you said about Marshall and Royal, sure, the Bears WRs aren't to there status, I'm not going to go there. But, the Bears WRs are a little Underrated, Devin Hester is a speed receiver (Like Royal) and the problem was, Hester would outrun Orton's throws. So far Earl Bennett has been looking great and catching everything in sight this offseason. And the Bears also brought in a couple more Young WR's in the draft. So they may not be the talent of Marshall and Royal. They aren't as bad as people give them credit for.

I think this trade helped both teams in what they were looking for, but we wont know who "Won" the trade for possibly 2-4 years.

Buffalo has continue their Ultimate Makeover (WolfPack Edition), agreeing to another deal that will bring in a Top Rookie pick among other things!!! OWD is busy as hell, and no where near being done yet!

I agree. I think we both feel like we won on the trade because we got what we wanted, but realize there is definetly risk. Pleasure dealing with you man!
