Payton Division
Illadelphs
Draft Team Needs: DE, OLB, Backup RB, WR
1. Aaron Maybin DE- cjf saw the lack of true DE depth. Darren Howard is nice, but is really just a situational pass rusher for the Eagles. Maybin will be much if the same in his first season with the Bills, but could develop into a devastating pass rusher in the future. A-
2. Brian Robiskie WR- Fitzgerald and DeSean Jackson is a good 1-2 punch, but Hank Baskett brings little as a slot receiver. Robiskie has great hands and is fundamentally sound when it comes to running routes. B+
3. Paul Kruger OLB- With Derrick Brooks remaining unsigned, the need for a outside linebacker was very prevalent going into the draft for the Beagelphs. Kruger is one of those tweener guys who played DE in college, he has a great first step and registered a ton of sacks last season at Utah. However he will not be thrown into the fire right away because the Ravens OLB situation is perfectly set. Also Kruger must add weight to his frame so he doesn't get pancaked every time he hits the line. C+
4. Travis Beckum TE- Beckum was the most coveted tight end going into his senior season, but a serious knee injury quickly tempered that. He is in a good spot with the Giants. Kevin Boss has had some good catches, but he was drafted as more of a blocking tight end anyway. Beckum is a very natural pass catcher and could provide a different dynamic to a Giants team that has lost Shockey, Burress and Toomer over the past two seasons. B+
5. Jonathon Luigs C- Some draftniks had Luigs rated only slightly lower than the likes of Wood, Mack and Unger. Personally he looks like he has backup center written all over him. At this point in the draft why not, maybe I'll be wrong and he'll become an amazing center. Helps bring depth to an otherwise shallow position. C
Overall- Cjf made some great value picks and could end up getting a steal with Travis Beckum, but I would have liked to see a running back picked for a team full of backs that are constantly on the inactive list. Nevertheless Cjf filled most of his teams needs well and stuck to his draft board instead of going for a sexy pick.

Knights
Team Needs- WR, OT, S, TE
1. LeSean McCoy RB- McCoy is going to see A LOT of carries early in his career with Westbrook's body quickly deteriorating before our eyes. I'm assuming this is a pick to make sure there is a functioning backup and eventually leading back in the future when Thomas Jones decides to hang it up. On pure talent alone this pick is pretty solid. B+
2. Sean Smith CB/S- Smith was one of my favorite players in this draft. With his unique size and speed, the converted wideout knows how to lock down his opponents. Don't get me wrong he isn't the fastest guy in the world, but he is pretty quick for his size. Don't be surprised if you see Smith earn a lot of playing time, even with Gibril Wilson and Yeremiah Bell in the safety slots. Matt got a great player who could be a force in the secondary within a year or two. A-
3. Glen Coffee RB- I really don't get the pick. I understand Coffee is going to be the backup for Gore in the new power running game the Niners, but what's wrong with Chester Taylor? I just see other needs like finding a replacement for Damien Woody at the right tackle position. Maybe Matt has a trick up his sleeve, but without any background knowledge on the situation. D+
Overall- After the 2nd round pick debacle, I was surprised the Matt didn't still go hard after another tackle later in the draft. I understand the lack of picking a receiver later on because rookie receivers don't do much in their first season and Matt can pick one up in the FA draft next year. At least I assume that's his plan. Tight end isn't a huge need, especially with Cottam becoming the man there. Still the Coffee pick is leaving a bitter taste in my mouth after two good picks, must of have been badly brewed.

Vipers
Team Needs- Secondary Secondary Secondary, OG
1. Malcolm Jenkins CB/S- Whatever position Jenkins plays he's going to succeed at it. The Vipers needed a second starter at both positions in the secondary behind Clark and McGee at safety and corner respectively. Jenkins will certainly be a starter for Krammy next season. A
2. Patrick Chung S- Chung is going to be playing right away for the Pats with Harrison's retirement to join NBC (now the worst football coverage in history....just look at that lineup....shudder) Chung is a hard hitter across the middle and should make his presence known to AFC East wide outs and tight ends. Pretty good in run support too. Pats very rarely miss on early picks. So this is a pretty safe bet. Will be an even better pick if Jenkins gets a DB designation by the sim. A-
3. Chase Coffman TE- One of the underrated tight ends in the draft. Needs to work on his blocking skills, but the Bengals already have Reggie Kelly and Ben Utecht to do the blocking. The Bengals have talked about getting their tightends involved more in the passing game and Coffman should be the guy for that job. Could end up being the most effective tight end in his first season out of all the rookie TE's. B+
4. Kaluka Maiava ILB- One of those flying Hawaiians from USC, Maiava finds himself in a kind of crowded linebacker unit. Vekune was also drafted by the Browns to be a OLB on the other side of Wimbley. D'Qwell Jackson also mans one of the middle units, so if Maiava can beat out his competition then the he will get the reps. Eventually could become an okay middle linebacker. C+
Overall- The Vipers could have improved their guard position to put on the other side of Waters, but that's okay. Krammy selected two of the better secondary guys out there and they should make immediate impacts as rookies. Coffman is one of my five sleepers to have great rookie seasons (something I'm writing up later) Maiava doesn't do anything for me, but this could quietly be one of the best drafts. A-

Yankees
Team Needs- WR, CB, DE, OG
1. Eugene Monroe OT- A solid first pick that should shore up the line next season for the Yankees. Monroe will start immediately at some position on the line for the Jags and should earn at least a 6.5 rating next offseason. A
2. Mohammed Massaquoi WR- I thought the Browns made a mistake by taking this guy and the Yankees did too. He was a streaky receiver at best at Georgia that never lived up to his high rating out of high school. Could have gotten a pretty solid corner here. D
3. Max Unger C/G- Great pick. Unger and Monroe are the future of the and if Scott Wells develops down in Arizona, the Yankees could have a Top 5 O-line in the future. Unger won't start right away, but I guarantee he is by the end of the season for the Seahawks. B+
4. Derek Cox CB- A head scratcher to be sure. Sure they needed DB help, but Cox was a workout warrior. The Jags do have a knack for finding solid defensive backs, but a reach to say the least even with his high draft slot in the real draft. C-
5. Lardarius Webb DB- Webb is one of those small school guys that could figure into the mix for the Ravens at some point. The Ravens are usually money with picks on their defense, but Webb is going to take a few years to develop. C
Overall- The Monroe and Unger picks were great for the O-Line, but I saw D-Line as another big need. The DT positions are okay, but Kiwi is a OLB in the Giants defense and will remain there with Osi back in action. Who knows if he'll even have D-Line eligibility next year. Everyone else at the DE position makes me yawn due to lack of ability or age. The O-line picks make this draft certainly not as bad. C-

Great job on the Vipers grades.... I like our draft and think we drafted some real talent.
The last two picks were made on potential, and we did plan on addressing our Guard position, but b/c we traded our 3rd round pick, we were not able to find a G worth drafting in the 4th and 5th rounds?? LOL
Keep up the good work!

actually the usual round you'll see eventual starting guards is in the 3rd round, which is the equivalent to the 4th round in our league
